the fall 2
So here is a list of movies that are playing at SIFF 2008 that we already have for rent at Scarecrow Video. This is a list that I have cobbled together myself, so it will be expanding as I do more digging and we get more stuff in, which we usually do. ;-) WARNING: Movies marked PAL or with a Code will require an all-code DVD player or a computer with DVD software that allows for regions other than Code 1. Bon appetite!

Is Nevsky the original flick from the forties, or a new version?

The original.

Cool! We're showing that at Benaroya in June, with the seattle symphony & chorale doing the soundtrack live!

*giggle* You're doing it for SIFF, actually. That is the showing we have scheduled. ;-)

Alexander Nevsky
Just an FYI, this film is dated 1938 and is silent. That's why the symphony can play behind it. Along with "Battleship Potemkin," it is one of Eisenstein's greatest films.

Ummm, yeah, we know that. :-)

Yer welcome! I'm sure there are probably more - these were just the ones I could find by looking at our online database.

This is awesome. Thanks so much for doing this. Now all I need is the region codes so I can hack my DVD player. (Should I assume that all of these are in DVD format?)

Thanks for this list, and your other reviews. I can't resist adding a local movie reviewer to my friend-list. I'm looking forward to SIFF too, and I've reviewed a few of the films after seeing press screenings in my own journal. My journal started as little more than reviews, but over time I started writing lots of other kinds of journal entries.
